BEYOND THE FIRST DOOR
Daniel’s adventure begins inside a mysterious old bookshop, where a hidden staircase leads him towards a door that should not exist.
Beyond the First Door lie five magical lands, each one testing his strength, challenging what he believes and forcing him to question his reality as he faces his darkest fears head on.
His only guides are an old lady and a lantern whose light reveals more than just the path ahead.
Yet the deeper Daniel travels, the more aware he becomes that something else is travelling with him.
Every new land reveals another mystery. Every victory changes the journey. And the more progress Daniel makes, the stronger his darkness grows.
Along his journey, Daniel begins to realise that the greatest discovery may not be who he can become… but the truth of who he already is.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Nicholas Driscoll
Author. Storyteller. Explorer of what makes us human.
Nicholas Driscoll is the author and creator of The Lantern Path, a fantasy adventure series born from a lifelong fascination with one question: what are we truly capable of when everything we believe about ourselves is challenged?
For more than two decades, Nicholas has worked closely with people from all walks of life. As a qualified clinical therapist, coach and specialist in human behaviour, he has successfully worked with thousands of people to create lasting change in their lives, helping them overcome fear and trauma, transform limiting beliefs, navigate difficult relationships and major life changes, and break through the barriers that once held them back.
But The Lantern Path is not a therapy book.
It is a fantasy adventure.
Nicholas took everything those years taught him about courage, fear, choice, identity and the extraordinary complexity of being human and did something very different with it.
He built a world.
Through Daniel’s journey across five magical lands, Nicholas explores those ideas not through lessons or instruction, but through story, danger, mystery, humour and adventure. Daniel is allowed to struggle, fail, question himself, get things spectacularly wrong and keep moving forward.
What the reader discovers alongside him belongs entirely to them.
Nicholas spent more than two years developing The Lantern Path: The First Door – Rise of the Truth, working through multiple stages of professional editing and development while protecting the heart of the story he wanted to tell.
And The First Door is only the beginning.
The Lantern Path is being developed as a trilogy, with Daniel’s journey continuing in The Second Door – Breaking the Code, where the world expands, new mysteries emerge and another traveller enters a journey that is becoming much larger than either of them imagined.
For Nicholas, however, the ambition behind The Lantern Path has always gone beyond simply writing books.
It is about creating stories people genuinely love to read. Stories that make them turn another page when they should probably have gone to sleep an hour ago. Stories filled with adventure, mystery and characters they care about.
And if somewhere along that journey a reader recognises something of themselves in Daniel…
that is where…
THE REAL ADVENTURE BEGINS.
